IVF Funding been fully utilized for the year ending March 31, 2019.  Mount Sinai is currently waiting on the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care to confirm funding for the next year starting April 1, 2019.  Based on previous years, we expect to receive confirmation about funding in March, at which point we can resume providing funded IVF treatments to our patients.  Currently, our wait list for a funded IVF spot is approximately 7 months.

Mount Sinai will do whatever it can to help you achieve a healthy pregnancy within the fastest possible timeline.  Patients who do not want to wait for funding still have an option to do a self-paid IVF cycle and can start at any time.   If this is what you would like to do or if you would like to explore this option, please contact your fertility specialist at Mount Sinai Fertility.    We are available to you if you have any other questions.

About the OFP Program and funding for IVF:

The government of Ontario made funding available for IVF in 2015 through the Ontario Fertility Program (OFP).  Mount Sinai Fertility was one of the clinics chosen to offer funded IVF through this program.  At the beginning of each year starting in March, the government allocates a budget to eligible clinics.    If you have questions about the Ontario Fertility Program (OFP), please refer to the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care website at www.ontario.ca/page/get-fertility-treatments.     If you have questions for your doctor about your treatment options, please contact the office of your fertility specialist directly.
