Mount Sinai Fertility Gears up to Resume Fertility Treatments

Please read below before contacting the clinic.

Following the announcement by the Province of Ontario on May 14th, we are excited to announce that we will be resuming fertility treatments. We are taking a measured approach, gradually increasing volumes and services as appropriate. Here is the order in which we will proceed. Only the Downtown location will be open.

We are now calling IVF patients whose cycles were cancelled in March due to COVID-19. These patients will begin priming and can expect to have their IVF procedure in June or early July.

Patients on the Funded IVF wait list will be contacted in the order in which they were added to the list, starting with those scheduled for March and April.

Patients wishing to start a self-pay IVF cycle, who are unsure if they are on our list, please use the portal to send us a message.  Please select “Cycle Prep – IVF” in the message and indicate your LMP (Last Menstrual Period).   We will acknowledge receipt of your message and contact you when we are ready to start your IVF cycle

Patients wishing to start a frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycle can expect to begin their cycle after our first group of previously cancelled IVF patients complete their cycle.   We will begin with FET patients whose cycles were cancelled in March, as well as those whose fresh transfers were converted to freeze all due to COVID-19.  If you were NOT cancelled and wish to start a transfer cycle, please wait for further instruction as to when you may contact the clinic with your Day 1/start of your FET cycle.

Patients doing an IUI or intercourse cycle will proceed in Phase 3.  We will begin with patients whose cycles were cancelled in March due to COVID-19.  If you were NOT cancelled and wish to start a IUI or IC cycle, please wait for further instruction as to when you may contact the clinic with your Day 1.

How should you proceed?

Due to high demand, we will not be able to accept Day 1 calls unless you have been instructed to do so by a Nurse.  If you haven’t been seen by a physician in the last 3 months or if you are awaiting further testing prior to starting a treatment cycle, please book a virtual appointment with your fertility specialist. Your doctor will ensure your readiness to start and provide further instruction at that time.

We understand that the wait to start your treatment will not be easy. A gradual approach to re-opening, as directed by the Ministry of Health, is the key to getting back to full service. We will get there.
