Introducing Dr. Miguel Russo
Dr. Russo, a Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Specialist at Mount Sinai Fertility, also serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Toronto. His journey with Mount Sinai Fertility began following the completion of a Royal College fellowship in Gynecologic Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (GREI) at the University of Toronto.
A staunch advocate for individualized care, Dr. Russo is deeply motivated by his patients’ unique stories and their aspirations to start a family. He believes in empowering his patients by providing them with the necessary information to make informed decisions about their fertility care. “I enjoy working with my patients and their support network to create a strong and highly motivated team, all working towards a common goal,” says Dr. Russo.

Dr. Russo’s clinical and research interests span a range of critical areas in fertility, including: an evidence-based approach to IVF treatment, reproductive surgery, and fertility preservation, particularly ovarian tissue cryopreservation. His approach combines cutting-edge science with a deep understanding of the emotional and physical challenges faced by those struggling with infertility.
As a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, with dual specialization in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (OB/GYN) and Gynecological Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (GREI), Dr. Russo upholds the highest standards of medical excellence. His active memberships in the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS) and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) further illustrate his dedication to advancing the field of reproductive medicine. Dr. Russo also holds a cross-appointment with the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology at the University of Toronto where he teaches the next generation of clinical embryologists in the Master of Health Science (MHSc) Program in Laboratory Medicine. Dr. Russo has also received several research grants and has published numerous scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals to help advance our knowledge of reproductive medicine. He has presented his work at national and international conferences.
