Mount Sinai Fertility Leads Canada’s First Ovarian Tissue Transport
A major milestone for fertility care in Canada – the Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ) has published work from our Mount Sinai Fertility team, a national leader in Fertility Preservation, showcasing the country’s first case of ovarian tissue transportation and centralized cryobanking.
This new model of care expands access to fertility preservation for young oncology patients seeking future parenthood, regardless of geographic location.
Dr. Jennia Michaeli, Reproductive Endocrinology and Fertility specialist, clinician-investigator at Mount Sinai Fertility, and Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Toronto, leads the ovarian tissue cryopreservation and cancer survivorship programs. Her work brings innovation in research and clinical practice to improve outcomes for patients facing fertility-threatening treatments.
This is life-changing care in action – innovation that reaches more patients and strengthens outcomes across the system.
